Fay Sealing Process-level Options

The Fay Sealing process provides the following options:

Sealant Type Process

This specifies the type of sealant to assume for all Fay Sealing operations, unless the operation has provided an override with the setup option Sealant Type. This also specifies the type of sealant to assume if the user has set the setup option Total Area Being Sealed. The default is specified by the Default Tool Material Name field in the Fay Sealing tool shop.

This type is used to determine default adhesive unit cost, which drives Expendable Tooling for Fay Sealing. Users can override this unit cost with the setup option Sealant Material Price Process.

Sealant Material Price Process

This specifies the sealant unit price to assume for all Fay Sealing operations, unless the operation has provided an override with the setup option Sealant Material Price. It also specifies the sealant unit price if the user has set the setup option Total Area Being Sealed. By default, this is the unit price for the value of Sealant Type Process in the Tool Materials table of the Adhesive Bonding tool shop. The value drives expendable tooling costs--see Fay Sealing Formulas.

Total Area Being Sealed

By default, the Fay Sealing cost model calculates the total area to be sealed based on the areas of the ContactRegions assigned the Fay Sealing operation. With this setup option, users can override the default and specify the total assembly surface area to which sealant is applied. This setup option drives cycle time and expendable tooling costs--see Fay Sealing Formulas.
